Ochratoxin A occurrence, its pathological effects on poultry health and decontamination approaches

Mycotoxins are filamentous fungi which can be seen microscopically and they impart adverse effects on poultry health. The occurrence of mycotoxins in feed imparts not only to the birds’ health but also causes huge economic losses by affecting conversion ratio, production meat eggs,and responsible for histopathological changes lymphoid organs chicken. More than 300 different species have been reported from ochratoxin aflatoxins most harmful industry. Among ochratoxins, especially Ochratoxin A (OTA) is produced Aspergillus Ochraceus Penicillium verrucosum as storage inside stored drains ingredients. ochratoxicity a dose-dependent factor hits immune system birds besides decreased intake body weight. Higher doses OTA toxicity resulted deterioration egg shell quality hatchability layers breeders. Histopathological profile affected showed severe moderate kidney, bursa Fabricius, liver, thymus, spleen, heart, lungs depending dosage. In this review article, an attempt has made concise associated alterations growth pattern, index, biochemical poultry. current approaches agents (Vitamin-E, Silymarin), being used reduce birds, discussed.
